Meet Our Collective Leaders
At FAT, leadership is not concentrated in one individual—it is shared by the young women who have grown through our programmes and now collectively guide the organization. This reflects our belief that those closest to the work are best placed to lead it.
Our leadership is rooted in the BeeHive Leadership Model, a collective approach built on shared responsibility, participation, and community ownership. Girls and young women who join FAT's programmes grow into facilitators, mentors, and organizational leaders, ensuring that decision-making remains grounded in lived experience and community realities.
Together, our Champions, Companions, and Collective Members work across programme delivery, organizational development, partnerships, communications, finance, research, and community engagement to strengthen FAT's mission and build community-led leadership.

Champions
Champions provide strategic and operational leadership, guiding the organization's vision, programmes, governance, partnerships, and long-term growth. They steward the collective, support decision-making, and ensure that FAT remains rooted in its feminist values and community-led approach.

Collective
Collectives are community-led groups formed by young women who have completed FAT's leadership pathway and are ready to take forward its mission within their own communities. They will lead and sustain the Girls in STEM (GiSTEM) and Young Women Leadership Programme (YWLPA), creating local spaces for learning, leadership, and collective action.
The first Collective has been established, with additional Collectives currently being formed as more young women progress through FAT's leadership journey. This model enables leadership, knowledge, and ownership to remain within communities, ensuring that FAT's work continues to grow through young women leading change for other girls and young women.
